Clean your feet daily
Okay, this is not rocket science! As filthy as it may sound but the truth is that some people do not wash their feet properly or say doesn’t even touch their feet while having a shower. As we give least importance to our feet. We do not wash them properly nor moisturize them, we often do that. So, first thing to get rid of foot odor is to wash them properly and gently. Easy they are also a part of your body and that too a special one.
Scrub/ pamper them
Yes, washing them quickly with soap and water is not enough especially if you have foot odor problem. The main reason behind scrubbing your feet is to get rid of the bacteria and dead skin cells that bacteria like to feed on. Dry your feet

We all know what is the job of a hand sanitizer, right it may sound weird but applying hand sanitizer all over your feet is also good as the bacteria on your feet will go straight away. And a good hand sanitizer will kill germs on your feet and also inhibit bacterial growth.
The same kind of antiperspirant you use under your arms can also be used for your feet. Just make sure to use different stick for your feet. Apply it to your clean, dry feet at night, then put on your socks as it is the next morning and go to work. It will keep your feet smell fresh and dry during the entire day.
Keep a mixture of 1/2 regular vinegar and 1/2 isopropyl alcohol
You can apply this mixture all over your feet with the help of a medicine dropper and between your toes and irritated skin as well. Both the products are harmless for your skin and the alcohol inhibits or kills bacteria. It also helps to get rid of fungus and foot odor as well. You can also soak your feet in a solution of this mixture as a way to get rid of foot odor. You can also add a few drops of thyme oil and baking soda both of them will help you get rid of that awful smell.
Rub your feet with the following powder
Rubbing any one of the following mixtures will help you to get rid of your foot odor.
Talcum powder: Talcum powder is an astringent so it will dry your feet.
Baking soda: You should apply baking soda as this creates an alkaline environment that is not bacterial friendly.
Corn starch: Why corn starch? This is because corn starch absorbs sweat.
Freshen up your feet
You should wear sandals and open-toed shoes so the air can flow around your feet, Keeping your feet open and so that they cannot produce as much sweat. During winters wear leather shoes or canvas and stay away from rubber and plastic shoes.
Change your socks daily
As we all know that socks absorb the sweat when a person wears them and it dries when you take them off. Putting on the same pair of socks will reheat the sweat, leading to a foul smell. To get rid of foot odour change your socks daily.
Points to consider
When you wash your socks you should wash them inside out so that the dead skin flakes can also be washed.
Go for socks made of cotton or wool. Non-absorbent socks like that of nylon trap moisturizer around your foot and makes a cozy place for bacteria growth.
Powder your shoes
Adding a little amount of baking soda in your shoes daily is the best way to get rid of foot odor. Just remember to dust out yesterday baking soda before adding the fresh amount. Why baking soda? The reason is simple baking soda absorbs moisture and odor.
Use cedar wood or cloves to freshen shoes
When you are not wearing your shoes instead you are wearing heels or your sandals then you can keep a clove in your shoes to get rid of that kinky smell. This is the best way to get rid of that awful smell from your shoes.
Wash your shoes frequently
This is something which you should know even without someone telling you. Washing your shoes do not hurt? Do they, so wash your shoes once in a while, twice or thrice a month is okay. And make sure they dry out completely before you put them on.
Add about two tablespoon of bleach in a bucket of warm water and soak your feet in it for about five to ten minutes daily for a week. Use salt water
To get rid of foot odor you can also try this thing, what you have to do is. Mix about half a cup of kosher salt in a bucket and soak your feet in it. Dry your feet completely after this.
Try vinegar to get rid of foot odor
This will make your skin a bit acidic but it’s okay if you really want to get rid of foot odor. But do not be a fool if it starts burning even a little bit take out your feet and dry them thoroughly.
Epsom salt soak
Epsom salt is wonderful as it have many benefits and when it comes to getting rid of of odor then using Epsom salt is also a great option. Epsom neutralizes odor and also works wonder for aching feet.

- 1/2 cup of Epsom salt
- Eight cups of warm water
- Something to soak your feet in like a bucket or bowl.
How to do it….
Add 1/2 cup of Epsom salt into the eight cups of warm water and then soak your feet for about thirty minutes one to two times a day. And dry your feet thoroughly afterwards.
Sage and rosemary soak
Why sage? Sage because it has antibacterial, antiviral, anti fungal and it is also an stringent. Rosemary is also an antibacterial/ antiviral and is also astringent which means that both of them prevents and minimizes the production of sweat. Less sweat leads to less bacteria.

- One teaspoon of rosemary dry
- One to two teaspoons of dried sage
- A small foot basin
How to do it…
Take a bucket or a foot basin and fill it with warm water and add herbs to it. When it is normal enough to put your feet in soak for thirty minutes that too one to two times a day.
Black tea foot soak
In old times people used black tea to get rid of foot odor as it contains high levels of tannin or tannin acid. The acid creates an unfriendly environment for bacterial growth, as it also acts as an astringent.

- Five bags of black tea
- Four cups of hot water
- And something to soak your feet in.
How to do it…
Pour four cups of hot water in a foot basin or a bucket and then add five bags of black tea. Wait for ten minutes till the tea as well as the water gets cool. Do this once a day and in no time you will get rid of your foot odor.
